Uninsured Services
As your family doctors, it has been our pleasure to help you with all of your health care needs. We strive to deliver medical services effectively and efficiently so that you can have access to a high standard of care. Unfortunately, as the cost of health care continues to rise, there is an increasing number of medical services that are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, or OHIP. These are often referred to as “uninsured services”, and they require time and resources to administer.
Examples of these uninsured services include:
Insurance and sick notes
Prescription renewals over the phone/fax
Missed appointments and medical supplies
A full list of such services has been provided below.
We are charging for uninsured services in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the Ontario Medical Association. This page will provide information on what the uinsured services are and their costs; as well as the option of a annual Block Fee. Choosing not to pay the annual fee will not affect your access to insured OHIP services (seeing your doctor) in any way.
All uninsured services must be paid in full when rendered. Forms, notes, letters and prescriptions will not be faxed or emailed until payment is received.
